Golden Penny Oil, one of Nigeria's most trusted edible oil brands, wanted to break away from the generic category storytelling that usually revolves around kitchen settings, smiling mothers, and golden frying visuals. The brand desired a new narrative that would elevate it beyond just a cooking oil, giving it a cultural edge and positioning it as premium.

Insight

Cooking oil is more than an ingredient — it's the invisible foundation of every great meal. While competitors focused on the product's functionality, we saw an opportunity to reframe the oil as the unseen hero in moments of connection, culture, and celebration.

Idea

Create a cinematic, story-driven film that would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world's best commercials — one that felt more like a Netflix or Amazon Prime production than a traditional food ad. The oil itself would serve as the golden thread weaving together stories of family, love, and culture.
